He’s in the Waiting
Lamentations 3:22-27
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him.”
The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him,
to the one who seeks him;
it is good to wait quietly
for the salvation of the Lord.
It is good for a man to bear the yoke
while he is young.
A lot of us have been in a season of waiting. Some of us have been waiting to go back to work. Some of us have been waiting to see friends and family. And many of us are waiting to gather again in a church building. But be encouraged. God is in the waiting. He is with us.
Every morning we get to wake up to the Lord’s compassion on us. Great is His faithfulness!
For us, we have been waiting expectantly to meet our baby. We have been preparing our nursery and trying to make sure that we have everything ready. Our carseat is in the car and our hospital bags are packed. A prayer request we have is that we wouldn’t be anxious, but that we would trust in the Lord and lean not on our own strength.
We hope that you feel encouraged this week. We all find ourselves in different seasons of waiting. You are not alone. Let us prepare our hearts for what’s next and let God meet us in the waiting. Romans 15:13, NIV: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
